"Since the Meiji Restoration, Japan has carved out a path to prosperity through our predecessors resolutely taking on challenges around the world. In order to wipe away our society's feeling of being caught in an impasse and restore Japanese people's hope and pride, I consider it to be extremely important for present-day Japan that we embrace the will to leave for other countries full of ambition, never lapsing into introversion. You embody that spirit. I would like to express once again my respect for the activities of all the returning volunteers."
